Welcome to a wonderful year in first grade!
We will focus on reading and writing and oral communication skill throughout the year in order to make sure your child has a solid foundation in language arts skills. We know that students have to make adjustments from kindergarten and become more independent learners but it is a process and little by little they will sink into the routine and make the connections!
In addition, we will explore the following thematic units throughout the year.
My World, Animal Habitats, Kenya, Matter, Canada, and Weather.
Please read with your child every day at least 20 minutes as reading is the foundation for learning!
